Reuseable Cloth Nappy Trial Scheme
Disposable nappies cannot be recycled and according to studies completed by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), by the time one baby is potty trained a baby could use between 4,000 to 6,000 disposable nappies.
Swapping to reusable cloth nappies can have a significant positive environmental impact in terms of reducing the amount of waste that is placed in the grey bin and ultimately sent for disposal.
Free Trial [From April 1st 2025]
Ards and North Down Borough Council is offering parents the opportunity to trial a reusable cloth nappy pack which will last for 2 weeks, this will allow parents to make an informed decision whether the cloth nappy suits the user before making a financial commitment, essentially a 'try before you buy'.
Trial kits and instructions on how to use these kits (both written and video) are supplied by our partner The Library Group.
A representative from The Library Group will contact you to explain how the trial works and will also arrange a date and time for the nappy pack to be delivered to your home and collected after the trial period ends.
This scheme is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
