Planning Conditions

Trees may be protected by a planning condition attached to a planning permission. Such conditions may afford protection for retention of a tree(s) and may advise that the Council's consent is required to carry out tree works. In these cases, consent should be sought from the Council prior to carrying out tree works.

Regardless of whether a tree is protected or not, the owner of the tree is responsible for the management and maintenance of the trees and liability for any damage that may be caused by the tree(s).
