Data Subject Access Complaints

If you are not happy with the way your request for information has been handled or if you believe that we have incorrectly applied an exemption/ exception and wrongly withheld information, you have the right to seek an internal review of the Council's processing of your request.

You can seek an internal review through the office of the Director of Corporate Services via dataprotection@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk  Please submit your request for an internal review within two months from the date a response was issued.  A panel of officers who were not involved with the original request will undertake the review.

We aim to issue an internal review response within 20 working days from receipt of the request for an internal review.

If following the internal review you are still dissatisfied, you can ask the Information Commissioner to assess the Council's decision, by contacting:

The Information Commissioner will expect that Council's internal procedure has been completed before any appeal is made to their office.
