Congratulations Rory!

Following Rory McIlroy's recent success, Ards and North Down Borough Council has expressed its willingness to support and facilitate any potential homecoming celebrations. The Council is happy to participate in discussions with appropriate stakeholders in Northern Ireland.
Elected Members will explore a variety of options to honour Rory McIlroy's outstanding achievements and legacy. The Council and our local community take great pride in his golf accomplishments.
Over the years, several proposals have been put forward by both the legacy North Down Borough Council and the current Ards and North Down Borough Council. With the approval of Rory's management company, his name was added to Holywood's welcome signage and he is included on the Wall of Fame at our leisure centres.
The Council is open to considering further proposals to celebrate Rory's achievements. However, this would only be in discussion with Rory and his management team and their agreement.
The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Alistair Cathcart, sends a message of congratulations to Rory McIlroy after his Masters and Grand Slam success. He said:
"Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on winning the 89th Augusta National and in doing so, becoming only the sixth male golfer to complete a career Grand Slam. He has secured his position as one of the greatest golfers of all time. Having been in the same year as him at Sullivan Upper School, I am proud to say that he is one of our own. The man from Holywood has his Green Jacket and has now won it all!"
