Bingham Lane Regeneration and Activation Scheme
Revitalising Bingham Lane: Join the Transformation
Bingham Lane, a central connecting route in Bangor City, has unfortunately fallen into disrepair over the years. Recognising this, local community representatives and the Council have prioritised enhancing its overall appearance.
In December 2024, OGU Architects and MMAS were awarded the contract to deliver a Concept Design aimed at regenerating and activating the Bingham Lane Pedestrian Walkway, stretching from Bingham Lane to Main Street.
The project aims to develop a concept design to transform this key connecting laneway into a vibrant and inviting public space. In doing so, it will enhance the overall experience for both visitors and residents by enhancing both the aesthetic and functional value of the area by creating a design that provides a welcoming atmosphere that fosters social interaction, community engagement, and a sense of place.
A public engagement session took place on Wednesday 19 March 2025, where a presentation was delivered by OGU Architects and MMAS, followed by the opportunity to ask any questions.
If you were unable to attend and would like to contribute your insights, please email regeneration@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk no later than Tuesday 1 April 2025
