Pickie Family Fun Park

Pickie holds a host of great memories for families from the Bangor area and beyond and is consistently in the Top 10 Tourist Attractions in Northern Ireland.  The giant Pickie pedal swans have become an iconic feature on the waterfront landscape.  This redevelopment is a fantastic investment in the future of the Park and will ensure Pickie Fun Park continues to attract and delight families for years to come.

The redevelopment proposes new attractions for both children and young adults, and feature landscaping so it better integrates with the new public realm along the coastline.

Design I CT Appointment

In September 2024, Council Members approved the appointment of Belfast based McAdam to manage, design and deliver the redevelopment of Bangor's iconic, family-favourite, Pickie Fun Park. 

Pickie Fun Park Operator Appointment

Following a Procurement Process, Ards and North Down Borough Council appointed Crumlin Road Gaol Ltd (CRG) as the new operator for Pickie Fun Park in December 2024. Having operated Pickie Fun Park over the past 5 years, this new appointment offers consistency and shows a real commitment and desire on the part of CRG to future-proof this much-loved landmark.  

Following the operator appointment award, Mr Quinn from CRG said "I am delighted to be awarded the contract and the opportunity to work with Council and its Design Team to develop a new and up-to-date attraction at Pickie Fun Park. CRG's investment proposal, alongside that of BRCD and Council, will hopefully transform the park and make it more attractive to the local community as well as visitors from further afield. CRG currently employs local people from the Borough thus providing much needed employment and the development will also help to stimulate the local economy. I look forward to working with all parties to deliver this project in the coming years."
