Advertising Opportunities in both Newtownards and Comber Leisure Centres
Ards and North Down Borough Council invites Expressions of Interest from any business based in the Borough with a specific interest in leisure, health, wellbeing, sport, nutrition, exercise and fitness who may wish to advertise in two key leisure facilities. This is a unique opportunity to advertise digitally in both Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex and Comber Leisure Centre, reaching over 80,000 people a month!

About the Venues
Opened in 2019, Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex is a large modern facility boasting a 25m swimming pool and teaching pool, children's Splash Pool, 56 exercise classes, luxury Spa, state of the art gym affiliated to HYROX, loads of kids' activities and a café. It is also home to Origin Gymnastics, the full-time training base for local Olympic Champion, Rhys McClenaghan.
In addition, there is also the Dome. This is a superb, covered, sand-filled synthetic training pitch, an ideal location for playing year-round games and sports such as:
- Tennis - 3 LTA compliant courts
- 5 a-side football - 3 compliant courts
- 7 a-side football
- Tag Rugby
- Hockey goals for training

Function Rooms
Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex also has a series of meeting/function rooms used by local businesses, groups and for parties.
The Complex boasts some impressive stats:
an impressive footfall of over one million users/visitors per year
Learn to Swim has 1,475 enrolled for Waves, including schools 2,760 per week.
56 fitness classes each week with over 1400 people attending each week.
Memberships of fitness, spa and aqua is 4,917.
60% of members are over 50
Comber Leisure Centre is a modern leisure facility is situated right in the heart of Comber. With 17 different exercise classes, a Health Spa, children's soft play area, hockey, bowls, tennis, badminton and pickleball there is something for all ages and abilities. Comber also offers state-of-the-art fitness and functional training equipment in a gym (HYROX affiliated) that caters for all levels and aptitudes. A Heavy Gym is dedicated to heavy resistance equipment for advanced muscle and strength training.
In addition, Comber also benefits from a Dome, which provides a year-round facility for tennis and football with 2 full-sized synthetic tennis courts undercover of the Dome.
Comber Leisure Centre also has an astro turf pitch with floodlights available for hockey training and match hire. Changing rooms, including team accommodation, is also available to those using the pitch.
Sports Hall
Comber has a large recently refurbished sports hall lined and equipped with 3 badminton/pickleball courts, 5x5, basketball and much more. This area caters for everything from gymnastics to jujitsu!
Function Rooms
Comber Leisure Centre has two function rooms, used by, and ideal for, business meetings, groups and parties. The popular children's soft play area can also be hired for parties and are suitable for bouncy castles.

The Digital Advertising Opportunities
This package offers the opportunity to have your brand, service, product, organisation etc. presented on 51 digital screens throughout both Centres including the main foyers, gyms and spin classrooms, offering a huge level of exposure to Centre users and visitors. Messaging can be changed and updated easily throughout the period of the contractual agreement.
Advertising Package
- 1 x large 9-screen digital display at Ards Reception
- 47 x Screens on exercise bikes/gym equipment across both centres (31 Ards/16 Comber) - users will see messages rotate on a reel as they exercise
- 6 x TV screens in the foyer including café, membership desk and at Spa entrance in Ards
- To support digital advertising there are a number of paper poster sites in changing rooms, above hand dryers and behind stall doors - ideal for more subtle messaging in dwell areas which are included in the package. There is also the opportunity (with agreement) to avail of a selection of outdoor banner sites.
- Ards Blair Mayne Leisure and Wellbeing Complex also boasts a large, modern and bright, two-entrance foyer perfect for promotional pop-up stalls to engage with customers, promote brands, carry out sampling etc. Package includes 4 promotional opportunities in this Centre in one calendar year.

Package Costs
The above package is valued at £1000 per calendar month with a minimum period of 6 consecutive months and a maximum of 12 months. Advertisers will be invoiced for the full amount (6 months or 12 months) or in monthly instalments with agreement, from April 2025.
Criteria and Application Form
As mentioned, applicants must meet the Eligibility Criteria laid out in Council's Advertising and Sponsorship Policy. In addition, the applicant must also be a business based in the Borough with a specific interest/product in leisure, health, wellbeing, sport, nutrition, exercise and fitness.
The closing date for completed applications is Friday 18 April 2025 at 4pm. Successful applicants will be notified and invited to a meeting to discuss the package in more detail and complete the contract.
